Piercing question?

ok i have a dilemma...

i really really want to get my cartilage or nose pierced. most likely ear. i already have doubles but want more so so bad. i have really thought about it- i really want it now and even if i dont later its not pernament (like a tatoo but that us not even a possibility with my folks).

heres the problem: my parents wont let me. they say it makes you look slutty or like a punk. but my mom had like triple ear pircings on school though. also the whole "entering the workforce" stuff. i mean i am a very responsible person but i guess my appearence can look a little not: i dye my hair black, eyeliner, black nails, darkish clothes, color all over arms and hands, rings, but its just what i like and they always critisize what i wear. but i am an honer student, vlonuteer, babysit, swim, and have good clean friends.

so i guess the question is: what is your opinion on it... should i be able to get one or accept my parents without trying more?

Cartilage piercings aren't slutty or punkish at all. They're actually very, very common. Just be prepared when/if you get it for it to feel different than the typical ear lobe piercing. You could also look into getting an industrial (two cartilage piercings with a bar connecting them), but if your parents won't go for just one, I'm sure they wouldn't go for two.

I personally would avoid piercing your nose. I absolutely LOVE piercings, but I don't know... Nose piercings can look terrible on a lot of people.

listen my dear your parents are just trying worried.there trying to make sure you dont do the mistakes they did.I dont recommend you doing it by yourself thou.my friend got piercings all around her body and her parents still dont know and its 2 years later!but do NOT do it alone,do it with a porfessinal and dont pick it at,touch it or play around with it or it will get infected and your parents will find out,

ok i have tattoos and guess what?? i can still get a good job!! get your cartilage pierced. everyone has a nose ring and i think the are tacky. the whole piercing thing is a stage. i went thru it. your right they aint permanent. i had like 15 piercings and now i only sport my belly button and ears. if they are worried bout the ''work force'' then get a piercing that dont show. you would be amazed at how many jobs dont care about piercings and even if they do they will tell you in the interview. work with your parents, understand where they are coming from.how old are you? i couldnt get anything but my ears til i was 17.
